This is one of my top picks. A very good presentation of expert use of HDR. Detail and clarity are superb. What makes this real is the rich tonal range. You allowed the shadowy areas to exist. And, those areas have discernible detail.

Something else I do with hdr sometimes (mentioning because of your sky hate) in advanced challenges is... say for this image. Edit it for the vineyards in photomatix. When you're done with that then open it up in Photoshop or whatever you might use. Copy one of the original exposures into a layer and mask it so that it only shows the sky. I very rarely have the whole image photomatix'd.
But great finish.

I have been looking at this image for a long time. There is scant worth mentioning about it other than this: it's terrible, never shoot again.

Gave it a 6 initially. But I felt so sorry for ya I thought you deserved an extra mark for the whisp of cloud that avoided my detection on first viewing.
