Losing Focusby ineedauniquenameComment by dahkota: Looks like a whiskey ad. Well taken image, but I'm not sure it works well for the challenge as the subject seems to be the whiskey. 6 |

Tall building makes smallish pyramidby ineedauniquenameComment by marcusvdt: I second Yo_Spiff's tips and would add that you should have played with aperture to get a deeper DOF. I don't like the OOF look of the building in the bottom of the image. Also, your image lacks white, the white on it is not white. But I love the idea and the composition. Hope it helps. |

Farmsteadby ineedauniquenameComment by rlewis: I like your user name..
This image has a lot of potential in the light, but the foreground (especially the powerline) really distracts from the image. There is also so many buildings that you lose the unique and homey feeling. |

Tall building makes smallish pyramidby ineedauniquenameComment by Yo_Spiff: Responding to your "how do I improve?" post in the forums. I looked through your entries and found one that I thought had more potential, but as it is would have probably gotten a 4, or at best a 5 from me. Did my own edit on it. My major problem with it was I didn't care for the dim appearance and strong yellow cast to it. That may have been a creative choice on your part, but anyway, if it helps, the editing steps are in the notes.

Losing Focusby ineedauniquenameComment by moriadelacroix: I like your take on this challenge - playing on the "missed focus" as the emotion of your photo. But in the photo, it appears the focus is on the Scotch bottle, which appears intentional and appears to be the main subject of the photo, with the person being just the background (sort of like some stock photography, where an object is the primary focus and the person or people are in the OOF background, just to help personify the photo). I am not sure which way was your intention, but that is my first impression on it.
Besides that, good job!!! – I love your play on “missed focus” as an emotion! |

Farmsteadby ineedauniquenameComment by heida: you have some really nice light there in the sky, but this picture might lack some real foreground subject to focus your attention on |

assorted linesby ineedauniquenameComment by AmeedEl-Ghoul: Hi Robert,
Thanks for your kind comment, appreciate it,
Your picture is not bad or even midcore,
I like it, it meets the challenge rules well, has an artistic B&W look,
I'd say it is a bet underscored as well.
Nicely done and keep up the good work, Cheers, |
