i bet this was a majestic site in it's day - i just wonder about the choice of crop - the vertical direction seems to make the building lose some of its dominance on the scene

I think I would like this better if it were not such a stark silhouette. The sky keeps pulling my eye and I keep wishing for some detail in the scene.

Unfortunately, there is no landscape detail in your image to see, which leaves skyscape. As such, perhaps more contrast in the sky would add some drama or interest for the viewer.
