lovely lovely picture, one minor point for me is that the grass in the forground is a little bit to sharp relative to the rest of the photo so my eyes go a bit funny when I look it ..... not letting that affect my score though

The bird is sharp and they are indeed fast. Freeze motion is sometimes acheived with fast shutter speed, flash, or motion panning (or combinations). With the background showing no detail, and the wings not showing much motion blur either, the image does not convey the idea of motion panning to a viewer who was not there with you.
