I'm going through the entries, stopping at those images I feel have had the benefit of an unconventional eye and dwelling a little longer to try to see and appreciate what you saw. This is one of those images.

Positives: Such a bold composition - I love it. A perfect image for the 'Film Noir' challenge we have never had - the aspect ratio suits the image perfectly. Superb use of negative space and the toning is marvellous too. A real story being told here.

Critical stuff: Nothing at all.

Overall: great image - simple, but so effective.

About the type of light you used for this:
Most of the time we would call it "harsh" because of the strength, the angles and the resulting shadows.
Yet here, I think it is wonderful..... it simply wouldn't have the same impact with soft diffused light.

Isn't it interesting how it always "depends" :-)
