Good idea. I think this "star" filter makes the rest of the photo hazy, and IMO takes away more than adding to it. The leaf colors are drained out. I do see that the lights colors are exposed, too.

The shot seems a bit off balance, like it's leaning a bit to the left and the overall lighting is a bit harsh, the silver on the fork looks blown out. The cropping is wonderful and the roses in the back with the angel knick knack is a very nice touch. An 8 from me ;)
