Subjectively, this is an excellent photo IMO. It makes a strong black and white. It could possibly stand to be a bit sharper, but that is just preference. There is a bit of perspective entering into this photo that could also be improved. When you are shooting a 'flat' subject such as this one, you may want to try to keep your camera lens parallel to the lines in the scene. In this image you are pointing your camera slightly to the right rather than being flat and centered. The lower horizon rises from left to right and the top horizon falls in the same direction... just some thoughts :)

Can't say I'm a cat photo fan either, but I thought this was great - I also have a cat and realize trying to photography these beasts can be a difficult task. Should have done a lot better score-wise.
