I really like this, simple but elegant, good leading lines, perfect composition, not over processed

Comment by Siggav:
I really liked the thumbnail but clicking through it's a little bit too sharp for me I think.

The shadows and the fence are gorgeous and the composition really works but the texture of the sand doesn't really work for me, I'd want it to be smoother instead of the one dimensional sandpaper look.

It's still a solid photo though. Also I am very well aware that the exact quality of the sand isn't under your control. A slightly different post processing might have changed the effect a bit though.

Comment by Teafran:
Very different and unigue - a solid image that is crisp, sharp and properly framed and composed - a technical success in every way. From an artistic standpoint, it has significant impact being rich with excellant detail and the monotone approach perfectly suits the subject. This image would have worked as a black and white as well. Well done.

Nice photo, but I think a bit too gray. More contrast would have helped.

Although I am not a black and white supporter, this image draws the attention.

Comment by Teafran:
Rich in detail and an excellant conversion, this image is a complete technical and artistic success. Everything is well controlled and the erratic nature of the sea gull is difficult to capture and the author has done well to frame this image perfectly. A great entry into the challenge. Well done.

What can you say really - an older Gull clearly embarrassed by the noise and fuss of a load of juveniles . . you can almost hear him saying " Tssk - kids of today . . "
