This doesn't come across as 'from the ground up' for me. Would like to see a more vertical aspect from the camera for this challenge. Maybe a composition from the bottom shooting straight up to the loop sections would have been more interesting. This challenge called for a more vertical aspect and I think you had some good material to work with here. Take some time to walk around and 'look up'.

you have achieved the duotone of the picture but when you did so...IMO you lost the vibrancy of your trees...they became quite flat in tone

Comment by bob350:
Chance juxtaposition of mallard and wood duck noted. Unfortunately, the background is very distracting with the scattered high contrast dead leaves and the green bits of needle branches competing for attention. Perhaps selective partial desaturation and darkening of all the image aside from the ducks (and maybe duck reflection) might help some.

Lighting is a bit flat to make this a stunning picture.

Comment by Teafran:
Very different and unigue - a solid image that is crisp, sharp and properly framed and composed - a technical success in every way. From an artistic standpoint, it has significant impact being richly colored with excellant detail. This image would have worked as a black and white as well. A perfect demonstration of the power of properly controlled light and focus. Well done.
