The subject is good and the challenge is nicely interpreted. The lighting is to harsh I think and straight on - did you try this in B/W? B/W might also have worked to lessen the attention grab of the bricks - it kind of demands attention in this red color. The background could have used more light to emphasise on how exactly this position is (to us, not to familiar with yoga). It is easy to "miss" the feet in first try. Taken this shot a bit from the side (30 degrees) rather than this straight on view might have been very interesting and put more emphasis on the position rather than just parts of the body, if you see what I mean. That might though depend a bit on how fit the guy is :) I look forward to watch your work for the coming challenges. The current one, people, seems to be something that you could excel in... |

Maybe they're just not ready for such perfection.....maybe they are not familiar with yoga....I don't know. I really enjoyed this shot--especially the skin vs. brick wall thing going on. Props to your flexible boyfriend, too. You may not have done as well as you liked, but it looks like you lucked out in the love dept.! |

This is, indeed, a yoga pose... maybe I should have been more descriptive with the title. The model was not naked, I cropped out his shorts. Anyone who might have been offended by the idea that this was a naked man was responding to whatever image existed in their mind, not my photo. Self-sucking? Um, no. This is a guy's back, shoulders, hands and feet. He's not a beefy guy, but he's fit... not appealing? I don't get it at all. As to the focus/sharpness... I have a 1.3 Megapixel camera, and I cropped a lot out of this photo, so I tried to smooth it out a bit with despeckle and sharpen filters. It made it look a bit odd, but I liked the result enough to enter it :) |
