The Resurgence of the Osprey by vawendyComment by doremi: //www.lrconline.com/Extension_Notes_English/pdf/ospry.pdf
I can understand your sadness about the baby osprey. I have also been following a pair of nesting ospreys & have noted a web site that may interest you. Quite a few of these sturdy platforms have been built by the gov. of Ontario ( the pair that I have been watching have built their nest on one). A few years ago a pair had been nesting on a hydro pole nearby & one had been electrocuted, so a platform was built & has had Osprey's every season since! Looking at your picture of the nest on the sign makes me think that one of these platforms would be a much safer nesting site. Perhaps the rangers will be interested.
I really enjoyed looking at your beautiful photos! |

Silver Dollar Diner, Newport News, VAby vawendyComment by bob350: One of my favorites in this challenge. The gleaming black and white conversion fits perfectly with "Silver", the composition is well-planned particularly with camera lower than stand-up height, and including a person lends interest. |

Silver Dollar Diner, Newport News, VAby vawendyComment by Leo: Pretty sweet pic of a diner. I like how the chair backs are "uniform" in facing toward you (don't know if it was happen stance or orchestrated...). I like the composition of filling the frame (not much wasted space). I like how the viewer is lead down the counter chairs to the table. My pick of the challenge. (Just curious though, maybe an outtake in color for comparison...) |

Etiquette Lesson #24: How to use a fork by vawendyComment by ndistress: This is a personal thing, & maybe it's because of where I'm from... but all the squirrels make me feel...*blech*
On to the photo- I like the choice in depth of field here. The sharpened fur of the arms and face are a nice contrast to the tail. |

Etiquette Lesson #24: How to use a fork by vawendyComment by Chandi: I think you hit upon the right idea!! Train a cute squirrel to do what you want for 6 months, then use the squirrel to ace the challenges for the next 6 months! lol. I can't honestly imagine how you do so well with squirrels. This one's too cute - cuter than the Absolut challenge. And the title!! Perfect! |
