041 George Bernard Shaw on Cynicismby
GeneralEComment by roz: and i'm assuming the george is saying .. that if you see something 'accurately' then others may see that as cynical .. 'others' being those who are wanting in the brain department .. ??
here's my two cents worth ..
no.1 .. i see cynicism as a fairly negative way to view the world .. an element of suspicion and distrust comes into play ..
no.2 .. i feel 'accurate observation' is a pretty gray area ..
who is to say what is accurate .. if its coming from a place of observation .. especially if you are talking of ideas and beliefs ..
when we observe we are seeing something as it relates to ourselves .. our world view .. our preconception .. and possibly misconceptions .. ..
you sometimes hear a person say they are being realistic .. and its more often than not .. regarding something of a negative nature .. another person may view the same situation in a positive light .. and still be being realistic .. or take away a positive from it ..
i personally believe that how you view the world is how the world will appear to you ..
but if you werent so cynical ... then you might see a world that is far more appealing and inviting than the one you saw when you were cynical ..
yet ..
that world is exactly the same ..
and if you believe ppl will rip you off .. then thats often what will happen ..
when you view ppl in a more positive light .. you attract those ppl into your life ..
and i'm not sprouting new age rubbish ..
this is from personal experience .. :)
'you' is not you .. btw ..
