A bit fuzzy. Cropped it a bit close though. And not sure if the B&W helps. An orange carrot might've worked better. The kid will probably choose the stick.

Its good idea... but dont keep interest long and its hard with two objects on picture. Maybe could try BW or sepia to keep all thing together.

Interesting shot. Too bad you couldn't get the white pole to line up perfectly with the tree in the background - that would've added a little to the composition.
