This is a neat high key concept. However, the high key nature of it seems to be contradictory to the theme of the shot. "Defeat" or despair... death... depression... whatever may be implied here is normally associated with negativity and darkness. Just something to think about when you are promoting an idea :) If the elements of the composition are supportive of that theme rather than contradictory, your idea may be better received....

This reminds very much of shots I've seen on Enature flower ID files. You have isolated this plant quite well. Like the textures and the DOF very much. Fret not, while it reminds of this enature files, it is much better than the ones they have. Very nice effort. Good luck!

I think it's a great image. The focus is right where it needs to be. I think the glass (along with the white envelope) helps to frame your faces...which has just the right amount of dof. :-)
