I Love Youby BAMartinComment by SharQ: A great idea, but the picture is too much out of focus for my taste. If you want to do stuff like this, use a smaller aperture to capture everything sharp! ;) (vote: 6) |

Arlington Winterby BAMartinComment by kandyj: Critique Club:
Meeting the Challenge: Does this very well with the repition of the headstones.
Composition: I do think including the whole tree might have made this a bit better. I like the tree in there, however, as it tends to add a little interest into what could have been a rather monotonous gray photo.
Technical Quality: Very well executed, the colors seem to be very right and the focus and dof good. The lighting somehow lends a coldness to the photo, although there are shadows present so it doesn't look flat. The snow adds to the starkness of the cemetary as well.
Creativity: Good, wouldn't have thought of a cemetary for rhythm.
Conclusion: A nice photo, well exectuted, might have been composed a little differently. Good job.

Arlington Winterby BAMartinComment by Swashbuckler: Man, can I NOT pick the winners or what! I really liked this shot. Nicely done and very emotional (well, it could be a personal thing with my Dad dying recently and putting him to rest at a National Cemetary, too.) |

Up in The Airby BAMartinComment by Harz_Joerg: Yellow and blue always go well and your submission is a great example for that.
I wonder why you didn't show us more of this crane? Would have been interesting. |

Joanna Giraffeby BAMartinComment by Lustre: What an interesting photo. It looks like several of the walls, columns and background are painted in the enclosure. Is the person really in with the giraffe? The colours have a lovely soft pastel feel to them - Good work. You probably could have had the child hidden a little more, but that doesn't change my vote in this instance. |
