Die verwaarlosing van die stasies in die binneland is vir my net te erg. Hierdie is Fouriesburg stasie en ek het in 1975 met 'n 6 maande oue baba van hier met die trein na Bloemfontein gereis. Nou word die spore nie meer gebruik nie. Ek weet nie eers of die graan van die silo af per trein vervoer word nie. Ek dink nie so nie. Die vermorsing breek my hart.

I am not partial to the title. To me the repeating in the title the word “emptiness” in a challenge named “emptiness” is somehow not trusting the viewer to make his/her own ideas about the image. Now I am forced to look at this beautiful image through your title and think that the little guardian does not really guard the emptiness but seems to rather enjoy the fluttering around it.
Minor thing though and I ignore the title and, for now, give 7

This would have been so much more effective if there weren't a lot of birds flying. If he was the only bird, and the rest was empty, it would have been awesone. Especially the razor wire emphasizing that the world needs to keep out. It's an intriguing photo, but it just doesn't meet the challenge, imo. -5-
