A 30-Year Old Gameby angkokwengComment by andrewt: Kok Weng , nice shot !! lovely contrast and well captured.
Don't worry too much about the score, it just means that the subject matter did not really make a big impact (interest) to half the voters. |

X-tra Power For Menby angkokwengComment by angkokweng: Hello Andi,
It is the sport man's right arm and tummy :) Yes, I knew it wasn't going to fare well.
Thank you SO much for commenting. I like it a lot. At least I know what went through your mind before clicking a number (vote).
Take care.

First Impression: An interesting take on the challenge but not something I find interesting although I did spend a while trying to work out what the shape in the bg was (my final guess is a sportmans right arm and back?)
Composition: Even though the image does nothing for me I do like the composition here.
Subject: Yup, its footwear and meets the challenge well, your photographer comments read like an advert rather than why you edited the image like this.
Technical: I've nowhere to go with the technical aspect of this shot, I just don't like it and guessing the original unedited image would have scored better. Nice white background (probably due to the over processing).
Final thoughts: For me I think it scored about right and have to applaud you for trying something new that you probably knew was not going to fare well in the challenge. |

All Become Oneby angkokwengComment by LadyK: Howdy from the Critique Club!
To tell you the truth, I have no idea how this photo fits the challenge it was entered in. When i look reeally hard, i see a Chinese hat(canoe) and a face of ropes. Im not sure if that is what you are trying to convey though, and that is your problem here. But it might just be me, who knows.
From a more technical perspective, I feel the sepia works wonderfully for the scene at hand. It makes me think and feel like the scene is a bit warm and dust, maybe untouched by most of the everyday world. Post processing feels perfect on the lower half of the image, but the upper half jsut doesnt pop at all. Maybe some dodging/burning might have helped?
One thing that really does grab me in this photo is the wide variety of patterns and lines. It gets more complicated the more you look, and that makes it more fun and interesting then other photos.
Sorry if i misunderstood your photo, i will send other critiquer your way for a more benificial critique. |
