Interesting concept. Judging by the holesin the paper, gumby seems a bit tense. Since everybody else harps on it, I will too... The end of the pencil seems to be a bit out of focus. Over all, this is a good picture. Focus is good, lighting is good & I actually like the subject... 7

I like the composition here, but the subject matter doesn't appeal to me. The black background does come through as a wonderfully rich black which is something I struggle with in my own photos.

This would be really cool if he was writing on one of those name tags they make you wear at get togethers. I'm a big fan of gumby. I like the angle and the lighting is great. No funny shadows or bright spots. I like the soft focus on this photo. I'm not a huge fan of soft focus, but gumby isn't suposed to be sharp and crisp, so it works for me. Good luck in the challenge.

I love the flat black background, brings out the cartoon-y aspect of this picture. I do worry, however, that Gumby seems to have problems puncturing the paper. He may need anger management classes.
