Donker drome bittersoet
harte waarin storms woed
eensame nagte koud en kil
verlate vlaktes wyds en stil

Bo slagvelde waar valkyries swewe
en die bloed deurdrenkte aarde bewe
vergangklikheid tot kuns verhewe
in die stryd om dood en lewe

Fragmente van ’n verlore lied
’n see van trane vol verdriet
aardse waardes is bedrog
en blyk niks meer dan ’n gedrog

Mag die mens sy waarheid vind
eer Mammon sy siel verslind
dagbreek’s glorie, stralend lig
ontwaak en bring weer hoop in sig
