I like your idea here. The kids are all gone and all that remains is silence. It conveys the feeling of silence quite strongly. The dark part and the light fall at the far end of the image detracts a bit though.

The image conveys a feeling of silence but I feel that it would have been more effective if there were less light. It's too brightly lit for my liking. The feeling of silence would have been stronger if the interior had been darker. Possibly it would have had more depth and been more dramatic also if you had moved back a bit further. 5
