America's Favorite Pass-time by hgpayneComment: Originally posted by MrAkamai: Very nice image but I see two flaws that would have prevented me from giving this a 10. First is that big white spot in the upper left corner. That is very distracting and should have been cropped out. |
To crop it out would require either cropping the left (losing much of the sweep of the arches I was trying to capture) or cropping the top (losing the symmetry between the top and bottom of the image.
Originally posted by MrAkamai: The second flaw is not as major but is noticeable and that the image is slightly tilted towards the left. |
I don't think there is a tilt to the left. The walls between the lockers tilt out with the top sticking out further than the bottom of the locker, giving it that tilted look. Trevor Hoffman's locker is on the end, next to the hallway leading into the locker room.
Originally posted by MrAkamai: If you look at the right of the image I do like the duotone/sepia look and I agree that it gives it a very timeless feel. Looks nicely focused and details are sharp. I would have given this a 7. Good job overall and congrats on your ribbon! |
Thanks! |

Tired of Waitingby 37vaComment: I had a similar idea to this, but didn't shoot and enter this challenge -- so, I'd have to say, "GREAT IDEA!" |

Are We There Yet?by dcclossComment: Ha ha! How many times have I heard that question personally!? Nice idea -- her hands and face are a bit blown out though |

Lyssby ValleyDollsXComment: Very very pixelated. This was either over sharpened, expanded to a size beyond the capabilities of the capture device, or saved to such a low quality that artifacts started showing -- not sure which, but man, it's nearly a mosaic. |

Chillin'by JackoComment: I wish the DOF included his nose. Great photo otherwise. Eyes are spot on. |

Training Groundby FirstyComment: I've seen many an empty playing field in this challenge, but this is the best to me. The green tint really works and the overall monochromatic look of most of the photo with the goal and tree nearby standing out from the rest -- looking almost 3D is what makes this one better than the rest. Nicely done. |

Poloby tomlewis1980Comment: One of my favorites of the challenge. You've stopped the action quite well -- I almost wish there was a little motion blur to show this is real. Colors, saturation, all great. Frame is nice without being obnoxious. Nicely done. |

Memoriesby biggood53Comment: Love the shot and the title is great. The faded threads on the ball work great -- I just wish the grass wasn't so light -- it should be rich green. |
