Oh wow! This is cool Rod. It looks like someone can't wait to get home. It sounds like you had a nice beetle adventure all those years ago. I read a story a little while ago about a couple who shipped an elderly beetle from NZ to England and then drove home via Europe and Asia. Those cars just keep on going.

I'm sure you could wrap a sci-fi story around these invaders. This shot, which shows them up so clearly, is a good illustration of the lifestyle of mistletoe. We have it here too, where it invades the eucalypts and mimics them in appearance. It eventually weakens and kills the host trees.

My husband's aunt gave a framed and illustrated print of this unattributed rhyme to our youngest son when he was little, and it hung on his wall until car posters replaced it.
