The Hunterby APComment: I don't have a relationship with my father, so it's always wonderful for me to see and hear about the stories of people that do/did.
May he rest in peace, and thank you for sharing this with us. |

Strengthby GaiaComment: A photo that in no way embodies the meaning of the challenge in my eyes. Not only are eagles very seldom actually silent, but your title, the harsh flash lighting, and the centered and flat composition all force my score down to the lowest I can possibly go.
An unapologetic 1 from me. Keep trying and good luck in future challenges. |

Silent Giantby seagypsydiversComment: Nice. Whale Shark, not everyday one gets a chance to photograph these. If I wasn't scared to death of any creature in the sea bigger than my hand, I'd love to swim with one. |

duck tape makes silenceby ocheComment: I can't believe I'm the first, but I'll definitely not be the last:
Duct. It's Duct Tape.
Kudos to trying for the shock value though. |

Deep Silence by tigmoComment: Well, I can only imagine that you're getting quite a number of high "omg, how did you get this shot?!" votes.
Personally, I'll refrain from voting. It's majestic, but I can't imagine the wind up there to be all that silent ;) |

Angel With Attitudeby levyj413Comment: Oh, I know all about girls needing to "dress up". lol. The 4 year old is crazy about it and loves her 'lipstick' (Just flavored lip gloss in her case though). I thought about it after commenting, but then left it anyway as I'd already said it and figured eh, it still stands. It's not that there IS lipstick, just that it becomes the focus of the shot. Too bright and shiny, you know?
Anyway, girls. Eesh. |

Do You See What I See?by bubbagirlComment: I gave this a 2 for:
- exposure. Highly over-exposed in some areas trying to compensate for the darker areas. Try shooting in more evenly lit areas to avoid this, or research techniques to expose for highlights while maintaining shadowed areas better.
- Focus. Nothing in this photo is in focus.
- Subject matter. While you have glasses here, they are presented very plainly with no real impact to the viewer. |

Through the Glassesby NairomiComment: I gave this a 3 for:
- size. Far too small to really impact. It's best if you can use the full pixel allowances that the site allows. |

Pup Starby AnimeSecondToNoneComment: A 3 for:
- blown highlights (try different exposure methods to avoid this, if possible)
- bad white balance. If your camera doesn't have a great auto-white balance, or manual white balance modes, try shooting in different lighting (say outdoors, or under fluorescent lights, to try and achieve less color cast in your photo (in this case, it is overly yellow).
- focus. The overall photo is very blurry and fuzzy, which means that focus was missed. Either this is because the camera wasn't held steady, or the shutter was pressed before auto-focus was achieved properly.
Another element that can be improved is composition (try finding more interesting ways to pose and/or shoot from different angles. Straight on shots are rarely going to get much score.) |
