These cloud patterns suggest a very dull, overcast, colorless sky to me.

So far, the only suggestion of color in the photos I've come across is in the title. Now, I might *know* that lines on a road are yellow, but red? What's supposed to be red? The model? Huh? A very weak 5 (and that only because it's not a horrible photo)

A nice abstract, but how is it supposed to suggest "color", exactly? 3

Because of the wash-out, you lose impact. Without the title, I'd have no idea what that object is without some intense scrutiny.

I'm thinking a crop that includes a little less of the shoulder/torso?

I'd like to point you to your portrait "Those Eyes", to give you an idea of what can boost a portrait of this nature sometimes, and that's engagement with the photographer. Like Karmat says, she looks a little discontent here, or at the very least, distant. If you can find a way to engage your subject so that they can project at least a little personality, you are far better off. There are times when you certainly want that dreamy, far-off type look, but in this case it just looks like she's had enough and wants you to move on.

You might think about getting people to remove sunglasses (or at least flip them up onto their head) in shots like this. With her wearing them, and the boy without, it throws in a contrast that is a little unsettling. Also, I concur with the previous comments. Try to play around with curves on a layer mask.

A nice candid. In shots like this, it's always nice to try and frame them so you have more negative space in front of the model than in the back, as it's a natural composition for the way humanity is, and the way we see things. We like to follow where the eyes go, or where people face. It's not always possible, of course, but it's something I find that I've forced myself to try and do until it comes almost naturally. Not that there can't be exceptions, but in this case I really think it would make for a stronger shot compositionally.

Hm. I still simply get a feeling of threatening from this, or... if not exactly threatening, like it's a shot post-accident where the parent is hugging the child out of grief.

Does nobody else feel that when they look at this shot? Was I traumatized as a child or something that I don't remember and it's coming through sub-conciously?
