The texture and tones of the skin and of course that eye are what this is all about. By placing that eye off center, you have provided a sense of imbalance I find disconcerting as if behind the half smile is a very complicated story. Penetrating character study. voted earlier

When will it end

This is a quite strong amalgam of static and moving elements - in reverse. The person moving seems static while the background moves. Yes we know how it's done in photography but the knowledge doesn't diminish the mind-bending effect. One minor gripe: the excessive blank space on the right dilutes the overall impact. Black is like a black hole - it pulls and works against the otherwise wonderful compositional effect.

This has an organic feel I find so satisfying and complete - an observation of life and immutable history that draws us in with the hope of finding something they have given up on. Otherwise light and tones are typically well done, etc. 9

Good eye squaring up the essentials and allowing the off-line pipe to provide essential imperfection. Tones and precision of details work to create a real vs abstract modernist nonobjective construct. The tension is surprisingly effective on repeated viewing. 8
