simple thingsby RKTComment: Great detail and tint. I am not a fan of overlays like that in this sky. voted earlier |

savannaby ubiqueComment: Framed and photographed this way, the title, "savanna", seems intimate and personal referring to the animal. Oh Savanna, don't you cry for me... 7 |

The Salt Pond by markwileyComment: Lovely landscape elements: water, rocks, reflections, and sun rays. Only downside: the burned out sun reflection (or maybe its just my monitor). voted earlier a 7 |

Pitt River in the Morningby PaulG13Comment: What a riot of photographic clichees!! There's a patch of layers in the center and a great sunstar peaking through the silhouetted trees; high clouds and their reflections in the almost still waters; and last but not least an unexpected and surreal group of dolphins breaching out of the black shoreline (or maybe just some leaves). By any count a fascinating image. bump |

Jackie by smardazComment: She looks familiar but nevermind. The shot still has a refreshingly spontaneous quality of high contrast film push-processed in my darkroom. Only the vignette seems unfilmlike. voted earlier |

Zoeby chazoeComment: This is a terrific shot. The attitude and posture of the child are so natural and sociologically poignent - reminds me almost of Dorothea Lange's dust bowel photographs. But the aspect ratio is unnatural and unfilmic in my view and the scratchy overlay an unnecessary distraction from an otherwise winning shot. Scratches in my film never looked like that. |

Tapestricby posthumousComment: Hard to know what one say coherently except to go from the gut, which is: I like the shot's textures and visual integration of the recognizable shape of the dog into its vitally abstract environment. |
