do you?by FourPointXComment: Ha! Man, I think this one is kinda cool... bummer it scored so low. The "floating" writing is an interesting effect. |

Taking the Polar Bear Plunge — 01/01/2012 by Bear_MusicComment: I love the novelty of this in the top. Something other than the run of the mill nonsense is refreshing, nice to see.
The PP seems a little strong, with the skin looking a bit synthetic, but it almost feels synthetic and similar to a comic, which works with the photo. |

spiritualspatulaby colorcarnivalComment: lol
I was wondering who did this and awaiting the end. I had long thought of doing my own in both this challenge and the previous username one, but thought I shouldn't do my own. Maybe I will later. I did get a good laugh out of seeing it, once voting started; made my day :)
Anyway... for the explanation-
"Honestly, I'm spiritualspatula ALL over the place on the web. It was a googlesmack when I chose it, which means I can unify an identity. It's somewhat of a joke, too, me being an atheist and all, on iconography and whatnot. Symbols are what we make of them, nothing inherently sacred about the symbol or item, it's the ideology and thought we put behind it, so why not a spatula? It conjures up amusing images and absurdity. It's silly, it's specific, it's alliterative, but easily remembered by people for it's oddness. Way back when I went as angrycheese for some communities (suitably odd and very very rare initially... but that one got more popular and I stopped using it).
It's very rare indeed for people to not laugh when I give them my e-mail address/handle, and I like that aspect, as well.
So there ya have it :)"
from this thread.

Triple Threatby gyabanComment: It's funny- when I saw this in the entries, the first thing I said was "wow, great lighting on the subjects." Very cinematic. The dragon model is much better quality than the Spiderman one though, wish he looked less like a miniature like the dragon does. |

Mister Rogers' Holidayby MelethiaComment: To me, the "miniature-ization" is not fully fledged on this one. That particularly look is greatly helped by elevating yourself above the subject matter, and I think that's part of why this doesn't really scream that. No problem with this, but if you're expecting the voters to vote towards that, it could be an explanation.
It's a nice, relaxing photo. I don't think there's particularly something wrong with it, but it's not terribly remarkable, either. I would've figured a solid 5.5 on this one, so I agree that it seems to have come out a bit lower than expected. |

tiny man, on the lamby skewsmeComment: I thought this was one of the most visually nauseating photos I've perhaps ever seen.
I don't mean that badly... just that it literally feels like I'm being pulled into this vortex of a photo. It's really quite a marvelous departure. |

joga bonitoby ubiqueComment: Sorta bummed this scored so low, I actually thought it was going to do quite well, since I think it has a nice mix of readily digestible bits mixed into the quirkiness that defines it.
The flying bird and the excellent vignette are great. |

Winter Daybreakby Bear_MusicComment: Ha, I knew this was yours, but I chickened out on calling it during voting.
Very nice use of the LB. |
