Focal point is on the tree, not the girl's eyes.

Lighting is a tiny bit harsh, but other than that I really like this.

Very fitting of a lifestyle photo. Only complaint is you could maybe use a tad more light on the left side of his face to get rid of the shadow under his brow on that side, but that's nitpicking. Really like the backdrop too.

Seems a tad underexposed overall.... perhaps to compensate for the shirt? Colors are also a little flat, but I like the pose.

This looks straight out of a kids clothing catalog (I do mean that in a good way). :)

This shot would benefit from either more DoF or the focal point being set on the subject's eyes, IMO.

Far more intense than Blue Steel, but I'm not sure if it's Magnum caliber.

I like the shadows, but would like it even more if the highlights were boosted a bit.

Personally I like your entry more, although, as others have pointed out, I think a frontal view would be better. It also seems like things should be a little sharper, which is likely due to either the application of noise reduction or perhaps it just needed a little bit more sharpening, since a 1/2000 shutter should stop everything. Also, I wouldn't think noise to be a huge issue at only 400, so maybe you were a bit heavy handed? Anyway, I did like your entry a good amount in the first place. Great timing and you did a great job following the prompt for the challenge.

The minimalist approach works great in this. The foliage to the left almost reminds me of Japanese paintings, and the two kiwi's provide a nicely subdued subject.

The textures in this are great. Not only is every nuance of the feather? captured, but so are tiny details in the water droplets. The hue of this is great too...definitely love the color.
