Self-portrait. Big softbox to the right of camera, medium box to the left and little more behind me, and a small box above my head and slightly to the right of camera facing downward. I prefocused on the spot where I am standing at by using my hand and my remote shutter release(my cord is only 3 feet long). I flipped the focus switch to manual and test fired a couple shots to see if the focus was good. After that, I just used my 12 second timer and went back and forth until I got the variety that I wanted.

I'm not a woman nor a child which means this will probably hit the mid-5s. Although, I'm hoping that the lighting will make up for those things and push it into the 6's. Gotta score well for my Olympic team!

This is my first real attempt at a "studio portrait" type shot. I prefer outdoor or environmental type portraits over the studio kind. I think it turned out ok for my first time.

My DPCO teammates said that they see a reddish-orange cast on my skin - I guess I better expect those same comments from the rest of the community as well. I can't help that my skin looks tan. I play sand volleyball 3-4 days a week in the summer!

Far more intense than Blue Steel, but I'm not sure if it's Magnum caliber.

I like the shadows, but would like it even more if the highlights were boosted a bit.

Nice moody shot It seems a little too reddish, but that might be my monitor.

love the bad boy look!!!
would have added a tiny bit more light on his face... but then again.... perhaps that would have taken the mystery away again... so... ignore that comment... LOVE IT!

Good luck Josh! I don't recall your face being so dark? Did you reedit?
