Periwinkleby librodoComment: The lighting and saturation on this photo are absolutely *STUNNING*. Her expression is very anti-classic, and a little haunting. I could do without the flower in the background, it's color seems to throw the shot off a little, but an excellent photograph. Very reminiscent of fairy child..
I do believe in fairies.. I do.. I do! |

sam-face-lr.jpgby DiamondPeteComment: I'd like to see more highlights in the eyes. If you have a reflector, or something you could use as one, that would probably help cut down on the glare along the nose and on the forhead, and distribute the light better. Failing a reflector, more exterior lighting instead of a flash would be beneficial as well.
Subject also seems a touch out of focus to me, but that could just be my eyes.. I *am* rather tired.
Except for those two suggestions, this is a nicely shot photo. Well cropped, and a good expression. I like to see photos of children with looks other than the usual "smiling for the camera". Also, if you have any shots of him in 3/4 profile, looking off camera, those would make good companion shots as well.
*EDIT* The shadow under the chin, which is a little distracting, could be lessened by better lighting/reflector as well :) Message edited by author 2004-08-29 01:18:41. |

Crayons.jpgby GolferDDSComment: Heh.. I don't even want to *think* about the setup involved in this shot :) I've tried to play around with crayons and lining them up like this myself, and I've always given right up. Great job. |

Blue Eyed Girlby arnitComment: Absolutely stunning..
The reflection of the numerical Pi adds an extra dimension most photographs of this type don't have. |

Attachmentby kandyjComment: Beautiful photo.
I don't want to make any assumptions, so I wanted to ask. Is this child with mother and father, or is it a tri-generational bond thing? I'm having a little difficulty determining if the bottom hand is female or not. |

Snowboard Cultureby smfsnowindComment: One of the reasons I could never be a snowboarder.. I hate exercise... and snow ;)
I just wanted to comment on this because I find this shot extremely beautiful.. from the deep blue of the sky, to the trail of footprints that leads you in a wandering and lazy path to your subjects. The crop is fantastic, and it really makes a person wish they were up there to experience it themselves.. hatred for snow and exercise aside :)
Great job. |

The Ten of Spades?by kyeboshComment: This is a wonderful concept.. very well "played", if you don't mind the pun, and great use of desaturation.
I had voted this a 9 before.. but the more I looked at it.. the more I think that it's my favorite of the challenge.. that it's got such depth, emotion, and strength of theme.. I've upgraded to a 10. Congrats. |
