I'm sure you're getting comments on the hair coming down over the eye. I kind of like it. Your crop has too much background for me, and the upper torso area is a bit too dark. The dodging or (if it wasn't dodged), the lighting on the cheek at the viewer's left is a little strong too. This does do a great job of capturing a sombre mood though, which I like. 8

I really like this photo except for one thing.. it's smoothed out a little tooo much for my tastes. I think, given the subject, that it was probably purposeful, but I don't really like the effect too much. Your angle, lighting, and the capture of the water drops are all wonderful though. 8

A Proud Bird

A nice little photograph of an Eagle's head. The green background isn't very flattering in my opinion, but I know there's not much you can do about that, unless you can drug the bird, run behind it, set up a backdrop, and shoot again.. heh.

Still, it's just another bald eagle for me, but an 8 anyway :)

Wow. I really love the simple nature of this photograph. It's such a refreshing change to see photographs of nude people doing normal, everyday things.. instead of always posing in a studio. Cropped a little too much off the top maybe, but this sure stands out!

I have to admit that I gave this shot a lower score because it has absolutely no appeal for me, and the pose is unflattering to my point of view. It's a great technical shot though, and I've seen much worse in publications of this genre. There's also something about the soft focus of the background that I'm not entirely sure about. 7

Munising Falls

This is a nice shot. Very clear, the lighting is fantastic, and I love the energy of the falls. What I don't like so much is the cropping. With a vertical falls like this, I think a closer crop and a portrait format would have worked much greater. The green on the right hand side threatens to over-power the falls a little too much. 8

"Back" Cover Girl

A very humorous entry that made me smile. I just think that you have too much of her body showing, and that it takes away too much from where you want the focus. I find myself drifting to the torso far too quckly, and the front cover of the magazine is also a little too busy and perhaps too prominent. 8

Sunset at Castle Hill

Great colors, and a nice compostion. The top of the castle kind of blends into the sky, however, (as does the left edge), and as such, you lose some detail which would have been nice to see. Still, it's a great dynamic, and one almost cowers with what looks like an approaching storm. 8

Misty Morning

I had originally given this an 8, but I'm bumping it up to a 9. The more I look at it, the more it grows on me. What a delightfully tranquil scene, and the sepia tone you've chosen for it is wonderful, not too strong, but sells the calm.

Night Torch

The smoothness in this low-light shot is simply unbelievable. I like the colors, but wish the person and the basket were clearer, although I understand they are hardly the focal point of the shot. I can't find too much to critique on this, except for the fact that it's just not personally compelling. 8
