The first commenter touched upon the reason it didn't score higher. People thought it was a failed attempt at selective desat and scored it appropriately. That's the first thing that hit me as well. Of course I know it wasn't desaturated but that's the look this image has, unfortunately. The shadow at bottom left didn't help either.

Nice plant/tree. I didn't think Berkshire had such tropical looking plants. I like the softness of the leaves. Good capture.

These bugs must just love it. Like swimming in sugar gummies and eating them up with no worry of the consequences. Great shot of this insect having a meal. Lovely colours. Would have liked to see more of his face just a bit.

Beautiful bokeh. I like the softness too and those stamens add colour to that bright spot just above them. And that brings me to my nitpick. That bright spot takes away some attention from the flower, my eyes are drawn to it.

I agree with nshapiro in that it's sharp but not like the big guys do it. I wonder what they do to achieve that crispness besides using a medium format camera.
