Ahhhh . . .by PirateDiversLtdComment: This is a quite mesmerizing image - and I've no idea what I'm loking at! It reminds me of a deep sea creature actually - like a puffer fish or something. Very odd and I like it, although it makes it difficult to criticise. ;) [7] |

Practice to Deceiveby crabappl3Comment: Very artisitic shot and a nice angle. not absolutely sure that the title works, but it's a good composition, lovely tones and good lighting. Good use of square format too. [7] |

Pinch As Seen From Inside Skinby wetlandComment: Very imaginitive shot and I instantly like the view and the seeming lip-like quality of the composition. That's a very deep pinch for skin and I think the title almost distracts me from the pic - it's nearly right but I think you would have needed a smoother membrane to use for the skin despite the metaphor.
I like the creative thinking behind it and it's well lit with good focus. [8] |

Inside looking out!by RobroComment: The right side is too overexposed, and one feels that this area is more relevant than perhaps was intended. I would have shown less of the outside, and maybe taken it from lower down to create some form from the bottom of the railing, although this may have reduced the angle on stairs too much, so even higher might be better. Nice textures and an intriguing item hanging by the door - what is this? [6] |

for lifeby whiiComment: Despite this man's obvious plight, he actually looks quite content with his situation in life (at least in this picture). I wouldn't describe this as desolation just because he seems worse off for his disability compared to an able-bodied person. His canine companion probably delivers much happiness, which seems evident. A great shot and an excellent study and capture, but slightly off-brief. |

Mother's Sorrowby lisaseiwertComment: This looks like a potentially tragic scene. I hope all is/was well. I can imagine that, if this is someone's daughter, a mother would certainly feel desolate. Lack of context makes 'unravelling' the image quite difficult though and it suffers a fair bit of noise. [8] |

Emptiness by eslaydogComment: What a great sculpture - not at all desolate though. Good composition and tones. |

Money desolationby zepequenoComment: This person does not look particularly bereft of cash to me! He could at least sell his decent clothes before being 'desolate'. Image is too soft focus with too slow a shutter speed. Good composition. |

In the Woodsby ChiquiComment: The flash makes the viewer too aware of a presence which quells the essence of desolation. If this were less brightly lit, off centre and perhaps taken from further back the effect would have been increased. |
