| now I am intrigued by all of the comments assuming female gender - I saw male. who is right? does it matter? |

| I can hardly bring myself to look at this picture! The feelings it brings up, of children dying and mothers crying is just almost too much. It's a great idea, but it's almost too powerful. ~10 |

| This looks like a potentially tragic scene. I hope all is/was well. I can imagine that, if this is someone's daughter, a mother would certainly feel desolate. Lack of context makes 'unravelling' the image quite difficult though and it suffers a fair bit of noise. [8] |

| the photo is well taken..good composition and works well in grayscale. My thought is more despair than desolation,sorry. |
