Ignoring your typo [!] - the shot has some pleasant calming elements and colour. The DOF is a little too harsh as it tends to suggest that there's a key element in focus when there is none. But I like it nonetheless.

Excellent take on the challenge! I'm not normally a fan of set-ups but this tickles me.

I hope you confound expectations and score well, but ultimately it doesn't matter because you've got a good image that's memorable and outside the comfort zone.

This would look marvellous in an East End bar.

Morning Fog

Comment:
Fog is always useful for atmospherics. However this is a great volumetric light but the subject lacks a focal point and consequently leaves me wanting to be emotional with nothing to be emotional about! The pixelation may have reduced what subject there was to an indistinct mass though.

Your exposure should have been metered on your brightest point here (the sun - or very close to it) in order to retain its outline. If you have a point-and-shoot you can half-click the shutter to meter, then move into position and fully click to shoot the image. The rest of the scene, which may have gone quite dark, could have been lifted afterwards.

Shall I shut up now?

Another Rainy Day

Comment:
While this concept/technique may be tried and tested, your execution of this photograph is richly memorable and I applaud your pulling off to perfection something which I too have tried with little success. This has that JPR touch of gritty gravitas which I always enjoy in your work. Your choice of subject (the cobbles) is spot-on and the editing is gimmickless and appropriate.

Thanks, but the plane is not intended as the moving element - thus the crisp car and blurred background.

This confirms my belief that most DPC voters at this current time are lacking in imagination and a willingness to step away from the safety zone of smooth, safe subjects and sentimentality. You have been robbed here, as have a few others in the challenge, but this is great if tad harsh and suffering a little moire at 640 pixels. What a superb find.

Great observation. Such neatness and order from the chaos.
