Is this the ocean? Looks like a lake with trees etc. Great angle - slightly over exposed - excellent capture. Background is a bit busy (can't help that though). How would this look in b+w? It may make the gull come forward more, since the background is not very interesting, the gull is quite colourless and it does not aid your title!

Yup I like this too, but it's just too much effort for some people to veer off the well trodden path. DOF is a bit too tight but the concept carries it nicely.

Very intriguing angle and subject. A bit more DOF would be good which would bring out more of the nice reflections. Tripod, f8 and slower shutter would help achieve this.

Great viewpoint which really adds to the feeling of ballooning, giving a relationship with the ground. There's a bit too much intrusive foliage though.

Lose the dirty border though - it traps your otherwise free-spirited image.
