Challenge link: medium - not immediately apparent.

Image critique: this is quite a gloomy shot, almost entirely due to poor light, but with some boosting through Curves or Levels it could have been lifted considerably. That doesn't really help as a photographer though, so my advice here would have been to shoot in better light, perhaps morning or evening to achieve more definition, and a better chance of sunlight.

The subject is actually quite dull though (for me at least).

Out-of-challenge appeal: none.

I can't tell what you wanted from this - humour, irony, a wind-up? Whatever it is, this doesn't really work on any level for me. I'll treat it as a serious shot and say that the flue iin the foreground is obstructive, too centred and dominates the shot, while the background elements are not very intriguing and do not play a strong part in the composition. Image is washed out by the sky.

I do like the curtains in the building and the texture on the piping though.

Image critique: yes, she looks indecisive. It's just that the image is washed out and not very appealing. So if the challenge brief is everything - you've achieved what you wanted. But if you don't want to get fed up with seeing a shot in your portfolio then you may have failed!
