Falling in November by Rando D300Comment: This is superbly caught, very crisp and with some lovely detail in the face. Not my kind of calendar but I bet dog lovers would really go for this. |

Grain Growers Association 2004 Calendar - OCTOBERby Dr.ConfuserComment: Very little here to keep this out of the 1s I'm afraid.
It's poorly lit, blurred and you've got a very confusing and uninteresting subject. This is harsh I know but I'm saying what many people will be thinking. I would have chosen a less flat lighting arrangement, used a tripod and presented an unusual viewpoint that enthusiasts for your subject may not be familiar with.
Perhaps a macro shot of a portion of the popcorn, or a shot of the popcorn with a hand buried in it. Maybe even an action shot of some popping.
... Or you could have shot a miniature cinema with a popcorn on each seat, each with a box of miniature people waiting to be eaten! |

Doggie Days - August - Dachshund by smokeditorComment: Yup - this is the kind of calendar shot that typifies the genre. Not my kind of calendar, mind!
Very well shot and excellently modelled - a bit too low & tight in the frame though. |

February's Sweetheartsby debitiptonComment: I'm not really sure that this would be calendar material. Who would buy it and what theme would it convey? I'd think this kind of image is too personal for someone to hang on their wall for a month!
It's a good shot and naturally posed, though a bit lacking in depth of contrast. |

Augustby Prime_TimeComment: Not much of interest or seasonal relevance here for me. Ordinarily the month would be depicted by something that denotes a flavour of that time, but this actually looks quite barren and devoid of features. |

Novemberby floydComment: Very pretty - definitely calendar-quality material. The branch on the right mid-ground is a little untidy (worth cloning out really), but it's a lovely viewpoint and good accentuation of portrait format. |

Bat Baitby glodaComment: Very funny explanation and a striking shot that I remember instantly. Good idea, well executed. |

November Bike Raceby kirtiebuComment: Great focus on the picket fence in the background. : )
Nice subject but this really needs perfection to carry it off and the key subjkect is not in focus. Background is too busy and shot seems to be too much of a snapshot than a carefully composed photo for a calendar. |

September Hurricanesby KonadorComment: Very good shot and excellent impression of that kind of weather, but I doubt you'll find one in Blighty (unless Global Warming really kicks in sooner than later). Excellent tones and compo, but I feel that just ducking to the left and a touch lower would have left the bandstand clear of the tree. |

Catch Me If You Canby ndsComment: I just keyed the number of this shot into the Random Photo thread! Very nice viewpoint and a nice surprise. |
