It's interesting - because I'm a purist too, but for me the light pollution over London is impure. My aim on this shot was to present the subject in a way that was more aesthetic - emulating a sky with no ugly neon glow.

Interesting. I only preferred the submission because of the detail in the bridge rails and the fact that they show more sky through them. Also, St Pauls is larger and more detailed in the frame.

Lens was my 17-85mm IS.

Oh - this is glorious. I envy you this scene - those overlaying clouds are to die for.

I'd actually crop out the hotspot and go portrait - it makes for even more drama (or I'd clone it out despite my purist stance).
