Yeaaah, I did not get this at all for the challenge and I looked at it for ages. Just sort of looked liked you shot a candid then added grain and hoped for the best. Maybe if you added a description to your comments afterwards I would slap myself on the head and say "yep' I get it now" I agree with streetpigeon on his 1st sentence, but then I have no idea what he is talking about. I don't think I am artsy enough to understand this photo or his comments Sorry =(

Before and after Decay

I will be honest with you, I gave you a 4. the thought is there, teh shot is there, it is just not a before and after. personally, I felt , if you stomped on the leaf a bit, scruffed it up, made it more brown/moldy/decayed, maybe, used selective colours and brightness/contrast on only that decayed leaf, then this would have been a 6-8 from me. There is just so little comparison at the moment. I do like it though, as it has so much more potential.

I still adore this shot and told daughter where it placed tonight. Her response was " Like, well yeeeeah, I told you sooooo, that is great, yaaaay, well done (as any 17.8 hormonal year girl rolls her eyes, with a ton of sarcasm)))

But then she said "" Did he clone out those people yet, cus our Charlie and other kids would love a print on their wall and he should send a print to the museum as well, they will love it, with or without the people in it"

This is a hormonal 17.8 year old setting the bar, high and giving you a 10 star thumbs up!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Cherish it!! lol

Well done Mark, I am an old women and I love dinosaurs, this is a really fabulous photo that tugs at everyone heartstrings.

If you boost that contrast on the whites, or even burn, or turn to BW on teh smoke, then add a bunch of structure that smoke would have been dancing off the page. So much potential here.

You are right, It kinda looks like a date that you get for Christmas in a tray, from relatives that hate you. If it is meant to be a pot pipe, then maybe you should try a date.

I see where you are going with this. It is good, but for me, maybe, one tiny spot on the ciggie cherry or smoke (only a tiny bit mind) would have made this more impactful It is a great shot though.

Well, this is going to get some comments, I am pretty sure Lydia will say something about smoking! Myself though, I like it, your face is perfection when it comes to sharpness and clarity, every whisker is tack! One thing though, is in the smoke, if you do a neutral colour selection and then play a little with the blues and whites, you will find that you get some amazing contrasts, blues and contrasting whites. I found this out on a smoke photo I did. You can make a difference too with a little dodge and burn, make that big cloud not so one dimensional. I really like your photo, well done! Vote later

This is too funny, when I saw it on FB, I actually thought this was a photo of you in your glory years. I didn't even notice the plastic table, (not sure how I didn't but there ya go) So the PP work is brilliant! Saw it in the challenge and thought, well that might be a little out of the date range, or it is great mini-me Art.
