Remembering how we got Life from Death

Hi from the CC Club

A sad reminder of our freedom!

1st impression, I would not know that this was a memorial wall unless I actually knew it was. I am from England and live in America, but there are many people that would just see that as a wall and unaware of what it is.

So getting some of the lettering in it standing out would have helped the viewer with this one. Play around with position when taking a photo like this, a straight on with a slight tilt would have eliminated the people. So play around with your DOF.

I see that your ISO is at 400, try 100 so there is less grain in the shot

Sharpening and contrast is your friend also in basic, it will bring out more details that are hidden.

It is a good shot

What a sad picture.

1st impressions are that your horizon is slightly tilted, it needs straightening out. Maybe a little saturation or selective colour to make the blues, yellows and green pop a little more. On the left hand side a crop that doesn't cut off the cross may help the viewers eye as well.

Good placement, well done

CC CLub here,

Well, it is certainly from above. He has a handsome face!

1st Impression, it is way too small, in basic remember you can go up to 640. Use all the given space you can in shots. It is also very dark, not sure the recovery helped much as it does bring out details , but it also darkens as well. I would play with the shadows and highlights a bit, expose and offset. Your ISO is your friend in situations like this, just bumping it up would give you a faster shutter speed. Great job on the sharpness, that is spot on

This would have been a fantastic shot, if it was brighter and less small.

I am seeing a trend in your shots. They are mostly out of focus. I am beginning to believe that this is how you mean to shoot them.

The eyes are in great focus, the pigeon has a head problem and some wing problems. Your horizon is tilted, I am not even sure how you managed this shot, everything bar the pigeon is in focus.

Hi from the CC Club and Tucson!!!

What you have here is a collared lizard, she is also full of eggs. You can tell by the red splotches. Nice capture.

S impressions, a little more sharpness, some contrast, and a little saturation. In the wild you will find that these are about the right colour, but the orangey splotches are usually vivid red, so you could have got away with some more saturation. maybe even a closer crop so your attention is completely on her and not the surrounding blurred rock. Technically, it is from above, just to the side as well. I do not know much about Picassa, so not sure what to tell you about PP work.

I think you did a great job on this

HI from the CC club!

A very cool shot here, thank your wife for the idea!

1st Impressions, very dark with just the one lighting on the side, couldn't see the other hand at all very well. BUT, the more you look at it, the more you see your wifes hand. This is not a 5 second glance shot. But this is DPC. I think that is probably why it wasn't placed higher .

This is very creative and artistic, it wouldn't surprise me to find it hanging on your wall at home. You have done a great job in the post processing, very sharp, clean lines. A buttery softness on the shoes, good choice to have the man hand behind the feminine wrist.

Nice job!

Hi from teh CC club!

I would have thought that bottle would have been a whiskey bottle after all your gear was stolen. I am so sorry that happened. But your POS did a really good job!

1st impression; The table and background just aren't jiving here. If it was all grey or all blue, I think it would have made a big difference. Your sharpness is great, a lovely deep red rich colour in the petals and I even spot a water drop or two. There is also a crease in the backdrop which is drawing my eye.

I love the simplicity of it all, the bottle , the flower.

Hello from the CC Club!!

Well, YAY I get to comment on this shot, which was my fav in the whole challenge. I am pretty stunned at the placement of this shot, should have been higher.

The only thing I can say about this shot, is maybe cropping out the white, blown out area. If you did a straight down left hand side crop this would get rid of this. It would also in affect, put more focus onto the head.

I still love this shot and it still has the same calming affect on me.

Keep on shooting I am excited to see more of your work

Well, as pointed out, it is pretty much out of focus. It would have been a great shot in focus. The silica in the sand would have popped out and all those colours would have made this a very great shot
