I like the vibrancy that you have going on in this shot. Your lighting is pretty harsh in this shot as you can see from the bounce that is going on in there. I think that a closer crop all around to make a sqaure crop would have focused us more on the marco that it is . The center is a jumble of abstract and should have been concentrated there.
even though your shot is full of colours it is coming across as fairly flat, I played with it roughly and this is what i got now i used brightness and contrast, selective colours in black only, adn then repeat and flip. I am not saying you have to do this, but it gives you another idea of what could be done iwth your shot to make it more abstract and with a feeling of depth.

First off, fantastic colours, the warmth and depth of the colour really brings out teh thoughts of crisp mornings, apple pies and warm fires. Your lighting is very good as well.
I think that the only nitpick that i have is that it is such a powerful image that the bottom being out of focus throws you off. Would have liked to have seen that as tack sharp as the rest of the shot it. Also the water drop, it neither makes the shot worse or better, it is one of those could be coudnt be there not going to hurt the shot.
Overall , very pleasing shot, well done | Photographer found comment helpful. |

Love the back ground on this shot, the red really sets off the silvers in the dvd player. I thinkt ht the reason that you scored fairly low was that most people dont think of this as an appliance but more along the lines of electronic.
You have a good DOF and the POV is not one normally seen here, you are sharp and have clean cut lines.

I can not believe that you did not get one comment on this adorable baby!! Well I am going to give you an in depth comment that you requested.
First off, an adorable subject, look at her hair, totally gorgeous!!!!!
Now lets get down to some nitty gritty bits!
Your sharpness is tack sharp, well done, the colours are good, the details are good also.
I think what would have helped with this shot, would have been a lower angle, get down to her level, as you have a slightly higher angle on her we do not get to see those big ole blue eyes that I see peeking out there.
When getting down and dirty with your subject, you will be amazed at what you see as you are on her level. you will see things as she see;s things and this can be amazing in photograph. Imagine just a little pink foot sticking out of her pink pants, that would be a classically great shot as well. A prop can sometimes bring an extra dimension as well, say a pink ball. This could bring a huge smile etc etc.
Having the hand cropped here is not helping the shot. I like how the bricks are brought out by her hair, same colours. The floor is not pleasing to the eye, having a blanket would be good here.
In post processing, there is not a lot more you could have done, I think you pretty much have it spot on.
You have one of the cheapest and easiest accessible models here, use her and you play alot with angles, different lighting different angles. I always found that a good tummy tickle was payment enough!

You asked for an in depth comment on your shot.
This is a really pretty picture and I like the fact that you have several pink shades going on in the background.
Now to the nitty gritty, I am afraid you shot is really out of focus. When eyeing up a subject, find one that you really like then you can move your little adjuster to just focus on that and the rest of it will be blurry, or you can have the whole lot in in focus.
Your ISO is fairly high too in this shot, try turning it down to 100 when taking shots outside as they will not get any grain, which I can see in your whites. A tripod could help with camera shake and make your shots extra sharp and clean.
In post processing, there is not a lot that you could have done with this shot, a little more contrast would ha e give you more depth of feeling to this shot.
Keep trying, you have an eye for it.

you asked for a more in depth comment on your shot in this challenge.
First impressions that you have a good leading line, your placement of the flower is strong and solid. You background is a nice buttery smooth feel to it. Then we get to the flower heads. I am not really sure how you got this look to it. It seems overally sharp, but not in focus or sharp at all. You have halo's going around the heads. I can not tell in your notes how you did this, maybe some smoothing? I am not sure but it doesn't work for this shot.
Your DOF and POV are strong, so try taking it again with these strong points and see what happens
