This looks like a fun shot!!!
they eyes on this person seem very kind and fun! You had an excellent idea here, using the pasta as a fan. There is not a lot here that can be improved on it is a nice shot, maybe next time use a darker background as this would pop the pasta, eyes and skin.
You could have gone with more saturation with her eyes, there is a wonderful tutorial on here about eyes, have a look as I think this shot could do with a pop. Whether it be her eyes, the pasta or eyes.

I like your shot, it does have a slight feel of an Italian kitchen.
As has been stated, your lighting is backwards, your candles aren't really dong anything for the picture as they are blown out at the wick. I don't actually see any cheese in this picture, I think what J is talking about is the line behind the canister (it sort of looks like the edge of the table to me)? If it is cheese, it should be brought out to the front and replace the plastic bag.
In post processing, using the exposure and brightness and contrast could have brought more light to the forefront. A little dodging and burning also could have made your items brighter.
A very good try | Photographer found comment helpful. |

This is an excellent shot, you are so lucky to have all this wildlife in your life!!
There is not a whole lot that I can see that you could do to make this a better shot. The black back ground is very dominant but as you stated that is the foliage. The pasta looks ok, I think it is the peanut butter that is turning it brownish, just say it is wheat pasta!!!
Overall, you are sharp, clean, clarity is excellent, colours are spot on. Just the background that is hurting you!
well done on a nice score! | Photographer found comment helpful. |

this is such a fun cool shot!!!
There really is nothing that I can think of that you could do differently, maybe dodgeing the yellows a little to make them brighter. I am not sure why you used a gaussian blur on this though as it could be a just a tad sharper.
Overall, fun cool shot that did well! | Photographer found comment helpful. |

This sounds yummy!!! There are a couple of things that need to be addressed though. You have this wonderful plate, which is not square ( I have red square plates!) which is just perfect for this shot. They are long and lean and show off yoru spag and salmon very well.
That being said, your leading line which starts with your plate, then pasta then salmon makes my eye travel all the way to the top left corner and falls off the side of the photo. In other words, there needs to be a full stop somewhere in your shot. Either have the corner of the plate as a full stop or full frame with the salmon as your end piece.
Now the pasta is either whole wheat or your whites are off. If it is whole wheat, there is not a lot you can do about that, but you can play around with your white balance, or selective colours whites, then they would have popped a little more.
Your salmon is secondary in this shot, but that also would have been nice to see it in focus, A-Dep on your camera would have taken care of that. Now the reason I am saying this, is you have 1 red and 1 brownish, and the red is winning in this shot, so some soft flakey pinks would have rounded this shot off nicely.
I for one am now hungry after looking at your shot, which is a compliment as you have evoked a sense in me.
Well done

This is a fun shot and original, I have heard about setting light to pasta as a way to light candles and bar b q's. I had just forgotten about it till I say this shot. I am going to go and try it!!!
You didn't do too badly with this shot for scores, it is very original and I don't believe I have seen it on here before. There are a couple of things that could be worked on though. You have a great big sun bubble in the middle of your pasta, this could be caused by something on your lens , have a quick look before shooting to see if your lens in clean, your focus is a little soft, did you use a tripod or was this handheld. Tripods are a must in low level lighting as there is no camera shake.
Your focus needs to be tack sharp in this sort of picture as it would get the flame, sticks of spag and the smoke sharp.
The border is really strong in this too, maybe tone it down a bit,
Try it again!!!

You are sharp, clean, clarity is spot on, the colours that you chose work well.
Excellent work!!! |

The thing that is hurting your shot here is the black adn white. You have excellent focus, DOF is relaly good, POV is different.
Just needs colour!!! |

I looooooooove this, I think it is really good. You have managed to bring a whole new line concept to your photos!.
I think that this is a brilliant anbstract of what can be done, I think just a little more contrast at your background would bring out the lines even more.
I really like this, I think it should have scored higher than it did for artistic merit | Photographer found comment helpful. |
