the teacherby muckpondComment: Focus seems a bit soft. Never a good thing to chop fingers off if you're going to try and include hands of a performer in a shot. Composition seems unbalanced, background is distracting. |

Live and unpluggedby TammerComment: Composition is all over the place, person on left looking straight out of shot picking his nose with another person directly behind him really spoils it. Not sure what you were trying to achieve here. |

Beachsideby annahComment: Very strange selective desat which has completely spoilt this promising shot for me. (Shouted to the heavens...) WHY?!? |

Virtuosoby pinbokeshattaComment: I really don't think this is live music. Music is an organised collection of notes, he's just picking out random notes. Light is very haphazard, glare off the piano takes the eye away from the boy. Too much background clutter. |

The bass player by geimdrengurComment: Very nice, love the use of wide angle. Background is nice and simple. Good colour balance. Very competent indeed, but missing an extra something... I wish the bass player was a tad more dynamic. |

Market Fiddlerby PrismComment: Yikes, how come this is so noisy in broad daylight? Did you leave it on the wrong ISO? Tree in the background really spoils the shot, as does 'ASTRY' on the left of the frame. It looks like you havent' really thought about your background at all. |

Rockin in the Rainby gothgirl83Comment: Promising, but the image is way too small here. Ask in the forums if you're not sure how to get a 640x image submitted. |

All my rowdy friends are comin' over tonightby drydocComment: Redeye... ouch. Composition doesn't seem thought out at all... all the people on the left of the frame lead the viewer's eye out of the shot because of the direction they're going in. Unless you were there, it's impossible to know what was going on, the photo doesn't tell me a clear story. Too much background detail makes it hard to know where we're supposed to be focusing on. |

taeby anarchickComment: I'd love to see much more of a sense of context, ie more of the audience rather than just some feet, otherwise it's really difficult to know what's going on. Did you check the histogram after taking the shot? It looks like the shadow tones aren't dark enough. Also, direct onboard flash is the work of the devil and makes shots look like snapshots. |
