Hopeless Abandonby inspzilComment: Incredible picture, very hard-hitting. The babies really add to the power of the shot, you've not held back here! Superb composition, great textures, very sharp... technically this is spot-on. It's very odd to see a dead mammal with it's legs straight up in the air... there's a black humour about it like a cartoon. I think that's what makes the shot so powerful, the juxtaposition of humour with the angst of the dead, abandoned babies. However, although I think this captures an emotion near to desolation, it's not 100% there for me. 9 |

when you are stuck in the past ...by sainazComment: My favourite shot this challenge... although not the highest scoring. The composition doesn't quite work for me... I don't like the way the picture has been split in half vertically. Maybe the pictures should take up more of the frame? There's also a strange shadow on the left at the base of the wall.
However, this is a really clever concept... I love this take on desolation where you are alone in the present because you can't drag yourself out of the past. Definitely the most creative shot this challenge. I had toyed with the idea of taking a shot of someone in a corner, but without your concept it would have been very poor. I think it could have benefited from some sharpening. Effective lighting. Well done... 9 |

Lost Soulby katlynComment: This border is so HUGE it's ridiculous. And it doesn't hide the unflattering shadow. 4 |

Earth warmingby rhipsterComment: If this wasn't so overexposed, this could have been one of my favourite pics this challenge. Is your monitor calibrated? 6 |

Real Metal Headsby Everyday ReneeComment: I gave it a 6... nice picture but the dof is a bit shallow and I think the glare detracts from it. The composition could also be improved. I do think it's better than average though... almost every single picture submitted here (even the amazing ones) get people voting all the way down to 1 so I wouldn't worry about it! |

Dragonfly by BobsterLobsterComment: Wow, thanks everyone... an unexpected result! There were so many great shots in this challenge, and I'm much more fond of many of my other entries that didn't do so well!
And I know now what a damselfly is! |

Mavrickby StevePaxComment: Shame that the edges here are so badly aliased... I wonder what adjustments you did to this pic to cause it! Great composition otherwise. 4 (yep, the aliasing really spoilt it for me!) |

Psychoby dan_pendletonComment: Nice shot... he looks like he is about to strike, so in my opinion the knife should be higher. Shame about the baggy top, the silhouette would have worked better with a closer fitting shirt. Compositionally this doesn't quite work for me, perhaps it needs more negative space to the left. 7 |
