Great background, nice shot. Shame the dog is a little overexposed, but this looks like a tough choice of subjects to expose for. 8

An interesting interpretation of life... nicely captured shot. The extreme tones have been captured well although I wonder if the curves could have been adjusted to bring out a tad more detail in the knight. Great lighting, very moody and atmospheric. The composition works very well here. I like the graininess of the picture. I really can't stand that drop-shadow border though, totally unnecessary. 9

This person's face is amazing, and is a great response to this challenge. Her eyes seem to know all the answers to life, and she certainly looks like someone who's lived. Works nicely in duotone, I'd have moved the gamma a tad to the darker shades, but that's just my preference. Shame that some of the highlights are just a bit blown out. 9

Great character portrait, I've not seen such an effective shot of young lads. This could almost be a poster for a movie, it really draws you in and encourages you to speculate on their lives and characters. Great composition. I can only dream of catching such an accomplished people shot. The frame works nicely, I didn't even notice it until now. I'm not sure this really captures an all-encompassing interpretation of Life though, so score: 9.

Gorgeous, luscious abstract. Stunning colours, great composition. Not too much detail, not too much blur. Great lighting. A fussy point, but I'm not sure this really communicates an interpretation of 'Life' rather than just life, so I'm taking off a point (just my opinion though.).

Very striking image, very impressive tonal contrasts. Not quite sure about the composition, but very effective nonetheless. 9

My favourite shot this challenge, and I thought there were more excellent ones than usual, so well done! Sadly, this interpretation of life is all too true for many people much of the time. Photography as art can be used to change people's lives and I think that this photo gives much to reflect on. It works very well in b&w, the angles of the tiles works very well in this composition. I think they serve to lead the eye away from the eyes and out of the frame, which provides a dissonance with the fact that he/she is unwilling to get out of the box. So the eye is simultaneously focusing on the subject's eyes and at the lower right hand corner. A dark box works nicely as a contrast to the floor and the subject's hands. 10

I really love this shot, it's definitely a unique shot. I like the way several subtle elements to do with various interpretations of life are integrated into one shot here. There seems to be a wistfullness about the person seated at the left looking at the paraglider which seems to echo the feeling you get when you think life is passing you by and you don't have the motivation to go for it. The dog is a nice addition, and includes elements of life that are more instinct and earthy. The companionship between these people has been captured well. The space in between them is nicely captured, and adds to the composition. You've also got earth and water, basic elements vital for life. The colours and saturation are superb. The composition is brilliant, everything has just the right balance and weight. 10
