After the fireby dhareComment: Wonderful composition, but I wish the sky was more interesting or dramatic. I'd have been tempted to increase reds using the Colour Balance tool in Photoshop, perhaps in the highlights and increased blues in the shadows. I also wish the trees were much sharper. I love the shape of the hills. |

Equestrianby HRoxasComment: Nice idea to backlight this statue. However, I see a lot of monuments with riders on horses in most towns and cities I go to, so this doesn't have as much impact as it should. I wish there were no trees in the background, or trees with a more striking outline. I think the shadow detail works well here. Edit: I see no reason why this shouldn't be a helpful comment. Steamby kellianComment: Interesting colours in sky. Not sure about the placement of the sun in the shot, I'd prefer it on one of the thirds junctions. I'd like to see a sharper foreground. Dramatic mood though. |

Silhouette Driveby DonatienComment: Interesting shot, but the composition is a bit off to me. It looks like you couldn't decide whether to centre the golfer in the frame or not. I'd crop tightly to his left, leaving plenty of negative space for him to shoot/look into. The blurred trees don't really work for me. I'm not sure about the graduated burnt out sky behind him... it looks a tad accidental rather than planned. A great idea though, and the silhouetted pose is a good one. |

TerraSurferby jmsetzlerComment: Superb shot, but I wonder if your monitor is calibrated badly. I feel your gamma should be a lot higher so the skateboarder's head stands out from the sky more. Great sun flare. Good composition. Excellent timing. |

Tchin tchinby rhipsterComment: Fantastic, VERY creative interpretation of challenge. Your two models are full of character and you can read all sorts of things into what each of them is thinking/feeling. Very polished execution of idea. 10/10. |

Pump Jack at Sunsetby jas0420Comment: Gorgeous reds, blues and yellows. I don't think the silhouette is clean and uncluttered enough for this to be a really high-impact shot, but that is a great sky and the sun works very well. |

Waitingby artvetComment: I think you'll find a lot of people voting badly on this one given the current digital effects backlash. I think it's very creative using a shadow as a silhouette but I can't understand why you've applied these unnecessary effects. I would say that photographic integrity has been violated here. Shame, as I like the composition. |

Attenuationby zeuszenComment: Great sky, but shot doesn't quite have enough to draw me in. Good and interesting composition. |

Bayham Abbey Ruinsby Geo_GriffinComment: Interesting composition. Sky seems noisy, and shot appears oversharpened. I'd have liked to see a more interesting formation of clouds. Good atmosphere though. |
