A great scene, but hurt by excessive compression. Your file size of only 60k indicates a highly compressed image and that is what is robbing most of the detail and sharpness from this image. I can see lots of compression artifacts and blockiness around the high contrast edges. Check your compression settings when you save your file. Always adjust JPEG compression so that your file size is as large as possible, but within the challenge limit. (200k for this one)

Looks like a hand painted postcard. I would not have thought that turret to be 100 years old, but I suppose the modern hotel attached to it is misleading.

I tried a similar treatment on my own entry, but as much as I liked it, I declined to enter that version do to some sharp haloing. I see a similar effect on yours. I'll post my outtake after the challenge. I would like so see if we were both doing the same thing.
