Ottery Tar Barrelsby P-A-U-LComment: I'm not sure what is going on or what the title refers to, but I recognize the can of Waxoyl in the pic. I used that on my car when I was in the UK for 4 years. Haven't found anything like in in the US.
Ok, I looked it up. Quite a bizarre tradition. |

Crossing my pathby hajekaComment: "She walks through the corn leading down to the river, Her hair shone like gold in the hot morning sun, She took all the love that a poor boy could give her, And left me to die like a fox on the run"
That's what popped into my head upon seeing this. Bringing up a song I haven't heard in decades is worth some extra pointage, but "Fox on the run" may have been a better title. |

Checkerboardby ELLIPSComment: Not totally abstract, but shot in an abstract manner, focusing my eye on the shapes, and tonality and textures. I think of these as semi abstracts. |

Ordinary Brillianceby LydiaComment: A good shot, but not abstract to me, I'm afraid. A closer macro shot of say, the pull tab might be more abstract. Sorry. |

Limescaleby DistantColoursComment: I like this, but a minor critique: It would have been more abstract if you hadn't told me what it was in the title. In typical challenges, I seem to get dinged for something that can't be identified, but that trend tends to reverse in an abstract challenge. It won't affect my vote, however. |

Settlersby GeorgesBogaertComment: Not terribly abstract. I'm sure I am not the first person to comment on that. Otherwise, an interesting cityscape with lots of detail. |

Fishingby ladpupmoeComment: Quite a bit oversharpened (or something) on this, especially in the trees, and it kills a lot of detail in a pleasing scene. Sorry. Would be interested in seeing the out of camera pic. |
