Fleetingby BebeComment: There may be some extra JPEG compression taking away some detail. I noticed some compression artifacts on the handle and the bucket. Your file size is only 36k and you could have used up to 150k for this challenge. Compression kills detail. Always use the least compression you can get away with and still come in under challenge limits. |

godzilla-kids play ballby sfaliceComment: Looks like a shield emblem that could be used by some fictional organization. Would look pretty cool as a patch on a jacket. |

Gas Worksby franktheyankComment: Gave this a 6. I liked the details and the use of HDR was perfect, enough to make it pop, but not over the top and cartoony looking. Composition was a bit deadpan, IMO, and I think that is why I didn't rate it any higher. |

Candy, anyone?by Yo_SpiffComment: Thanks for all the feedback. It seems that many did not understand what was unusual about the object. I guess I should have used a title that simply described that it as a "Pooping pig candy dispenser", but I hate using deadpan titles like that. |

New Home for the Old Folksby PennyStreetComment: I like this, but I think it could benefit from a little more sharpening. I popped this into my editor out of curiosity and found some sharpening really made the textures and details pop out. |

A Childs Architectural Dreamby boyhuntsforblissComment: I like this, but I have a nitpick. It seems a little on the dim side. I popped it into my editor and just a modest levels adjustment (the histogram was flat on the light end) really cranked this shot up a notch. |

Catby KarenNfldComment: Other than the crop being a touch tight on the right, I like this. Nice combination of textures and colors. |

Noah's Arcby charlotteComment: Neat looking building. Is it anything out of the ordinary, or just a cool looking office tower?
Seems a little soft. I think it could have benefited from a little more sharpening. |

The Condo Building Structureby ocninonComment: Seems a little soft on detail, so I looked at the file size. Congratulations! You get one of my (in)famous comments about JPEG compression!
There is some excessive JPEG compression taking away a lot of detail. Your file size is only 82k and you could have used up to 150k for this challenge. Compression kills detail. Always use the least compression you can get away with and still come in under challenge limits. Most image editors have that ability to adjust compression somewhere in the file save dialog.
Also, you should use the maximum image size allowed of 640 pixels on at least one side of your entry. Especially important for a highly detailed image like this.
Hope this helped some. |
